Last weekend I ended up laying on my back because when I got up Sunday, after posting my back was giving me trouble. I got a lot of knitting done on my afghan and decided to set a goal to knit one skein of yarn a week. I finished the skein on Monday leaving me until Friday to work on other projects. I am not sure how this will work because during the school year I am TIRED after work and usually don't do a lot of knitting. I like to watch 24, Prison Break, Grey's Anatomy and Men in Trees. These are my sacred shows, I usually don't knit while I am watching them so that they can have my full attention. Therefore if I keep this goal up I may end up getting behind in other projects. The other two projects I am working on are the socks for Lily pictured here.

I continue to work on the ballband dishcloth in my car, yes my car is pretty dirty right now. Lets just pass the blame onto having two teenage girls. You can see my Hurry Up Spring Armwarmers from Stitch n Bitch Nation.

Fortunately I took a picture of Joy's socks before the cleaning lady put them in the wash. Joy wore them anyway. I think she likes wool socks.

I enjoy knitting socks in the winter because they are quick project but have some shaping to make the knitting more interesting. I spent some of this morning blog reading and looking for patterns and found this site with free patterns. I like her Go Team Socks. Now I need to find a good solid color sock yarn with an 8 stitch per inch gauge on size 1's. I'd like to make them in blue and gold (yellow) for our high school.. How long do you think our mascot will last now with the demise of Chief Illiniwek.
I think I need to end this post now because if I keep making connections like this it could go on forever.
I was going to go to the boys state swim meet this afternoon but earlier in the week a close family friend died. I will be attending the memorial service in a few hours. Alby was a fun person, always full of life. You could always hear is voice enthusiastically engaged in conversation when he was around. He was always interesting to be with. I know he will be missed by many.
